1. What OMGwhat is

OMGwhat.app ("OMGwhat", "we", "us") is a community-powered discovery app. People post Finds — unusual, useful or worth-the-drive things — attached to places on a map. Some records are imported from open datasets, some are submitted by the community, and some descriptions and answers are generated by AI. By using OMGwhat you agree to these Terms.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything done with your account. Display name, handle, avatar, bio and any social links you add are public. Do not put anything in them you would not want strangers to see.

3. Information is community-sourced and may be wrong

OMGwhat is not an authority on anything. Listings, hours, prices, access rules, seasonality, safety conditions and whether something still exists can be incomplete, outdated or simply incorrect. We label what we know:

• Confirmed — recently verified by multiple community members.
• Community reported — one person said so; nobody has checked it since.
• Imported / source-backed — it appears in an open dataset; that is all.
• Needs confirmation or Possibly outdated — treat with suspicion.

These labels describe confidence, not truth. You are responsible for verifying hours, prices, admission, access, legality and safety before you go. Do not rely on OMGwhat for any decision where being wrong would hurt.

4. AI features (Scout, OMG Brain, Tell Me More)

Scout, OMG Brain and Tell Me More generate answers from community data, imported records and third-party AI models. They can be incomplete, out of date, or confidently wrong. AI output is informational only and is not travel, legal, medical, financial or safety advice. Where an answer is grounded in a specific source or confirmation we say so; where we do not know, we say that too. Do not treat an AI answer as permission, a booking, a guarantee of access, or proof that a place is safe or open.

5. Safety and off-limits content

• No content that encourages trespassing or entering closed, restricted or unsafe sites.
• No pinning or describing private homes, gated property or non-public interiors as Finds.
• No instructions for dangerous, destructive or illegal activity.
• No doxxing: no home addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, license plates or tracking of individuals, including yourself in a way that endangers you.
• No harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content involving minors, or illegal content.
• No fake Finds, fake confirmations, spam, or attempts to game points, streaks or badges.
• No scraping, bulk automated access, or circumventing rate limits outside our documented agent API.

Full detail lives in the Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. Breaches can mean content removal, loss of points, or account termination.

6. Your content and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of everything you submit — Finds, photos, notes, confirmations, disputes and profile content. You grant OMGwhat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display (resizing, cropping, thumbnails), and publicly display that content inside OMGwhat and in our own app-store and social promotion of the app, for as long as you keep it published, plus a short technical period for backups. You can revoke it going forward by deleting the content or your account.

You warrant that you actually have the rights to what you post, that you took the photo or have the photographer's permission, and that posting it does not break anyone else's rights or a property owner's rules.

7. Other people's photos and videos

A Find may reference something that went viral elsewhere. Crediting a creator is not the same as having permission. We do not host or re-publish third-party videos or photos without permission, and neither may you. Do not upload someone else's image, screenshot, or video frame — link to the original instead. 8. Reporting problems

Anyone — including a business owner, property owner or creator — can flag a record as inaccurate, unsafe, outdated or infringing, using the report and dispute controls on any Find or place, or by emailing help@omgwhat.app. Urgent safety issues: safety@omgwhat.app. We review reports and may remove, hide, relabel or correct content.

9. Imported data and attribution

Baseline map records come from open datasets under their own licences, including OpenStreetMap (ODbL) and Wikidata. Those licences continue to apply to that data. See Data sources & licences.

10. Agent and API access

OMGwhat exposes an authenticated agent (MCP) interface. Access is tied to your account and your permissions; anything an agent does on your behalf counts as your activity under these Terms. We may rate-limit, log, or revoke access.

11. Points, badges and rewards

Points, levels, streaks, badges and challenge progress have no cash value, are not property, and may be adjusted or reset if they were earned through fake or abusive activity.

12. Termination

You can request deletion at any time from Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms. Content that other people have confirmed or built on may remain in anonymised form as part of the shared record.

13. Disclaimers and liability

OMGwhat is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that any place is open, safe, accessible, legal to enter, or as described. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything that happens when you visit a place you found here. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Changes and contact

We will update these Terms as the product changes and bump the version at the top. Questions: legal@omgwhat.app.

These Terms are written to describe honestly what OMGwhat does today. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by an attorney. Jurisdiction, governing law, arbitration, consumer-law carve-outs and the operating entity's legal name still need to be settled by counsel.
